While Geier’s music still retains it’s slow melancholic verve, “Sweet Apples” brings new color and versatility to his style. A slightly stronger country music element is quite distinct in some of the new songs, while the album as a whole has a fresher pop music feel to it. “Sweet Apples” is a collection of beautiful tunes: emotional, lyrical, sad, romantic, naive and sometimes quite humorous – although, as on “Raintracks”, the humor is not always immediately apparent. Kurt Patrick Geier’s critically acclaimed debut album “Raintracks” was released in December of 2004. “Sweet Apples” is his second album as a solo artist. Besides his solo career as a singer-songwriter, Kurt is also songwriter, guitarist and co-vocalist in the German Band “Renz bei Rechner”.
