Joe, 17, has spent the last few years lonely and reclusive, as he prepares his return to a society that will most likely shun him. The arrival of brooding William, a new inmate, will reshape his concept of what freedom truly means. As the boys discover a mutual attraction and empathy toward each other, and a romance begins, the reality of losing each other becomes all too real as Joe’s release date approaches.
