Arthur Butterworth (1923-2014) wrote over one hundred and fifty compositions including seven symphonies, chamber and instrumental pieces and a significant body of work for brass band. Many of his scores were inspired by the Yorkshire moorlands near his home in Skipton, North Yorkshire.
