Hr brass was founded in 1986 by various brass players of the former Radio Symphony Orchestra Frankfurt Radio. It was the motivation to work together outside of the orchestral work and deepen the fascination of brass music in their own arrangements. The 20th century compositions assembled on this disc embody the reaction of the ensemble to the political misuse of music. The unmilitarised zones by HK Gruber are islands of peace in a chaotic sequence of the most varied march fragments that go from the Badenweiler March via Sousa’s Washington Post march to the Hungarian march of Berlioz.
